Registration is closed

Casselton residents will have the opportunity to vote on a proposed amendment to the City Sales and Use Tax Ordinance in a special election on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.

What’s on the Ballot?

The proposed measure asks voters whether the City of Casselton should amend the existing 2% sales and use tax ordinance to dedicate funds to the following:
Infrastructure and capital improvements
Parks and recreation
Job development (business retention, expansion, and recruitment)
Property tax relief

Currently, Casselton has a 2% sales and use tax, but it is set to revert to 1% once bonds for the community wellness center are paid off.

What Your Vote Means

A "YES" vote means you support the amendment, keeping the 2% sales and use tax in place with the updated funding allocations.
A "NO" vote means you do not support the amendment, and the sales and use tax would decrease to 1% as previously planned.
